For Dimensional Analysis Problems:
- Write the quantity as a product of powers of variables: Q = k*
- Write dimensional formulae of all quantities
- Equate powers of M, L, T (and A, K if needed)
- Solve the system of equations for a, b, c
For Error Analysis Problems:
- Identify the formula relating the measured quantity to its variables
- Determine the power of each variable
- Apply the propagation rule: %error = sum of |power| * %error of each variable
- The result is the maximum possible percentage error
For Instrument Reading Problems:
- Calculate the least count
- Read the main scale reading
- Read the vernier/circular scale coincidence
- Compute: Reading = MSR + (coincidence * LC)
- Apply zero error correction: Corrected = Observed - (zero error)
