Enterokinase = duodenal mucosa (intestinal, NOT pancreatic). It activates trypsinogen → trypsin → cascade (chymotrypsin, elastase, carboxypeptidase).

Fat → lacteals → thoracic duct → subclavian vein (bypass liver). Glucose + amino acids → blood capillaries → portal vein → liver.

Large intestine absorbs ONLY water + minerals. Bacteria make vitamins B + K. Zero nutrient (glucose/amino acid/fat) absorption here.

Kwashiorkor = oedema (protein deficiency, low albumin). Marasmus = wasting (total starvation, no oedema). The oedema presence/absence is the definitive exam distinguisher.
