High-Frequency Question Types (NEET 2015–2024)
| Pattern | Frequency | Typical Format | Key Trap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Projectile range/height with given angle and speed | 3–4 Qs/year | Calculate T, H, or R | Forgetting complementary angle property |
| Velocity at highest point of projectile | 1–2 Qs/year | Conceptual MCQ | Choosing "zero" instead of |
| v-t or x-t graph interpretation | 2–3 Qs/year | Graph reading | Mixing up slope and area meanings |
| Centripetal acceleration (circular motion) | 1–2 Qs/year | Formula application | Using v instead of /r |
| s_n formula (displacement in nth second) | 1 Q/year | Numerical | Confusing with total displacement |
| Sign convention in free fall | 1 Q/year | Numerical with upward throw | Not applying g = −9.8 when upward +ve |
| Complementary angle range equality | 1 Q/year | Comparison MCQ | Reversing which gives greater height |
NEET Traps Checklist
- Horizontal velocity at peak = (not zero)
- Speed in circular motion = constant; velocity direction = continuously changing
- s_n formula gives displacement DURING nth second; not cumulative
- v-t graph area = displacement (not distance unless all motion is one direction)
- 30° and 60° give identical range (complementary angles); 60° gives 3× the height of 30°
- ; not
