Mirror formula: 1/v + 1/u = 1/f, where f = R/2.

Linear magnification: m = hiho\frac{h_i}{h_o} = -v/u. If m is negative, the image is inverted (real). If m is positive, the image is erect (virtual).

For concave mirror: when object is beyond C, image is between F and C (diminished, real). When object is between F and C, image is beyond C (magnified, real). When object is between F and P, image is behind mirror (magnified, virtual).

Convex mirror always forms virtual, erect, diminished images regardless of object position.
