sin(A+B) = sinA cosB + cosA sinB can be derived geometrically using the unit circle or algebraically using rotation matrices. All other compound formulas follow: replace B with -B for subtraction (using sin(-B) = -sinB, cos(-B) = cosB). The tan formula is obtained by dividing sin by cos and simplifying.
