Searchable Library
All your generated flashcards are saved in a searchable library, organized by subject and date.
Why Active Recall Beats
Re-Reading Your Notes
In 1885, psychologist Hermann Ebbinghaus ran memory experiments on himself and discovered something every student has felt but never measured: without deliberate review, we forget about half of new material within an hour and roughly 70% within 24 hours. That curve is now named after him (Ebbinghaus, Über das Gedächtnis, 1885).
Active recall — the act of retrieving information from memory instead of re-reading it — flattens that curve. In a landmark study by Roediger and Karpicke (Psychological Science, 2006), students who tested themselves on the material outperformed students who re-read the same material by nearly 2x on a delayed test one week later. Flashcards are the oldest, simplest, most well-studied active-recall tool. The only problem is writing them.
The math of building flashcards by hand
A typical university student covers eight to twelve textbook chapters per course. Twenty cards per chapter is 160–240 cards per course. At two minutes per card, that is five to eight hours of card-writing before any studying happens. Pre-med and NEET students running four subjects at once are looking at 20+ hours of pure formatting work. Most never do it. They re-read their highlights, feel productive, and still miss the questions that come up on test day.
What an AI flashcard generator actually produces
NoteTube reads your material the way a good study partner would: it identifies the testable claims, builds a question for each, and writes an answer in plain language. You get a mix of card types in every deck:
- Concept cards — “What is the function of the glomerulus?”
- Definition cards — “Define nucleophilic substitution (SN2).”
- Comparison cards — “How does meiosis differ from mitosis?”
- Application cards — “In the reaction CH₃Br + OH⁻, identify the leaving group.”
No formatting decisions, no procrastination. You get from chapter to first review in under 30 seconds.
Where NoteTube goes further than a standalone generator
Most AI flashcard tools stop at generation. NoteTube is a study system wrapped around the cards:
- SM-2 spaced repetition schedules each card at the moment you are about to forget it — the same algorithm Anki uses, applied to cards you never had to write.
- Per-card analytics show which concepts you miss repeatedly, so you can zoom in on weak spots instead of re-grinding what you already know.
- Anki export means you are never locked in — generate here, study wherever you prefer.
- Cross-format review — pair any deck with an AI quiz to test retrieval in a different shape, or start from a PDF summary before generating the cards.
Who this is for
- Medical and NEET students working through hundreds of pages of biology per chapter.
- Engineering and JEE students turning lecture derivations into retrievable facts.
- Language learners extracting vocabulary from news articles and podcasts.
- Law students condensing cases into black-letter principles.
- Anyone who has ever said “I studied for six hours and still failed” — which is a method problem, not a discipline problem.
